Opening myself up to some criticism here but hey that is what blogs are for.
I was a part of my first Chinese (Singaporean) wedding in May this year. I was entrusted as a “Brother”of the Groom. A close selection of mates of the Groom who are there for him throughout the day.
It all started at 7:30am all suited up and ready to go. We had to go to the Bride’s house and ‘gatecrash’ it. The Bride’s “Sisters” were there and they guard the bride. We had to complete many tasks like eating and drinking silly concoctions, getting mahjong pieces out of a bucket of ice water with our toes and trying to bribe them. The final piece was a dance to The Wonder Girls song - Nobody but you - that we had to try and copy.
A bit embarrassing but oh well that has never stopped me before.
